Our Founding
In 2017 a group of friends came together with a shared vision of making a positive impact in their community. They founded Shark Response Inc., an organization dedicated to stopping preventable deaths from shark attack by providing access to first aid equipment in the time critical first responder stage.
Our Growth
Over the years, Shark Response Inc. has grown from a small group of volunteers to a respected organization that has worked with Rescue Organisations, Department of primary industries and community groups. We are proud to have 7 Public Access First Aid Kits in strategic Locations throughout Northern NSW. We have lobbied for change to outdated practices and equipment guidelines, and helped to educate the public. One life that has been saved from our efforts is enough reason to continue.
Name Change
Formerly Shark Attack Response Incorporated
Our name changed to Shark Response Inc. to keep the peace with official interactions.
Some public have been unhappy with this change in name due to the loss of close loved family members and full respect is given to these people. As we concentrate on first aid at a critical life dependant time we stay as independent as possible from the shark hunting/fishing who's responsible debate so we can be responsible to set up a framework to provide life saving first Aid. We have supporters from Ocean Conservationists to Commercial fishermen, local surfers, beach goers and the general public. The reason we go on is for the ones that are no longer here
